A Look back at the Summer 2010 Workshop
Energy Efficiency was again the Focus of the fifth BayOpX® Workshop
The fifth BayOpX®
workshop focused entirely on the issue of energy efficiency. In view of the
good response from participants last year, the Bayer Technology Services series
of events on “The Efficient Use of Energy in Process Management and Process
Technology by Industrial Plants and Companies” was in 2010 once again dedicated
to this leading topic, which is gaining significance not only in German-speaking
countries but also internationally. It is the response of Bayer Technology
Services to a critical need for information among its customers.

The fifth BayOpX® workshop also focused entirely on the issue of energy efficiency.
Some 40 participants, primarily suitors of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, attended a variety of presentations at Lenzburg Castle, in the Swiss town of the same name, on June 10th, 2010. “Our experts used case studies of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries to show how individual optimization potentials can be identified and quantified, and how the results can be used to derive effective energy-saving measures that can be implemented sustainably in operations,” says Dr. Hans-Joachim Leimkühler, BayOpX® program manager. The live demonstrations and the “Climate Footprint” and “Energy Check for Buildings” exhibits again generated particular interest this year.

Dr. Ariane Firus-Göing, Head of Account Management at Bayer Technology Services, praised this year’s workshop: “For the first time, numerous representatives of the pharmaceutical industry attended this event, which indicates that we are doing a great job of meeting the needs of this customer group with our BayOpX® approach.”

This year’s BayOpX® workshop was very well-attended by representatives of the pharmaceutical industry.
The BayOpX® series originated in 2007. Thanks to the positive feedback the workshops have received, they are now held several times a year in Germany and, recently, the first events have also taken place in the United States and China.
