Think
innovative and be proactive. That was the motto Bayer Technology Services used
to introduce customers to innovative solutions relating to "Operational
Excellence". In a nod to the successful kick-off event held in fall 2007, the
workshop was once again held in an old monastery building. This time, with the
event focusing on the Bavaria sales region, the location was the historic
Kloster Seeon near Lake Chiemsee.

"In view of the level of global competition, it is now more important than ever to ensure processes, plants and entire sites utilize all the available potential for improvement to the full, not only in production, but also in process development," declared Dr. Helmut Mothes, Head of Process Technology, at the start of the event. As at the previous workshop, Bayer Technology Services showcased its credentials as a solution provider with broad expertise in consulting, methods and implementation.

The event attracted a great deal of attention from customers and was attended by around 50 participants. It focused primarily on issues relating to process engineering, ranging from energy efficiency analyses and ways to increase plant availability to integrated capacity expansion. In addition to the presentations, the participants had the opportunity to use the forum to discuss their own case studies with Bayer Technology Services experts, and to discover at first hand the advantages of the products on show.

"This workshop has enabled us to give our
customers a clearer insight into the products available from Bayer Technology
Services. We managed to gauge the needs of our customers very accurately. That
was evident from the feedback received in the discussions, and the interest
expressed in obtaining further support from Bayer Technology Services,"
said Dr. Klaus Sommer, Head of Business Management, summing up the response to
the event.
